Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the Yorkshire coast — a must-see weekend in the regional arts calendar.

Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Alongside the open studios, enjoy a programme celebrating Staithes’ rich history and heritage, including walks, talks, photographs and film shows.

Location: Staithes — 11 miles north of Whitby (TS13 5BH)

My background is in Textiles and Surface Design and I work full time as a Senior Print Technician in Higher Education. In addition to this I run a small business selling mini silk screens and screen printed items and handmade books. Periodically I run workshop sessions in printmaking processes and bookbinding. I love nothing more than a creative project and have many on the go. Screen printing is my most favoured process to use and is often incorporated into a project at every stage, visual research, development and final outcome. My latest project is based on pressed flowers and is begining to develop into natural dye exploration. Part of the Book-Print-Paint Collective
