I live at Hummersea a few miles along the coast from Staithes, towards Saltburn with my family. My work is inspired by our beautiful coastline with its ever changing dramatic light. I mainly use hand building techniques, predominantly working with stoneware and porcelain, Currently exploring the summer colours in nature and the sea, which will reflect this combination. I also have a passion for discarded objects and textiles which has informed my work over time, telling a story of a ‘throw away’ society. I include these found objects by casting, or pressing them into the clay, giving them a new meaning.
