Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the Yorkshire coast — a must-see weekend in the regional arts calendar.

Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Alongside the open studios, enjoy a programme celebrating Staithes’ rich history and heritage, including walks, talks, photographs and film shows.

I am an artist based in Whitby, I work from my garden studio and workshop. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of mediums, though I love using natural materials like wool for my pet portraits and wood for crafting decorative homeware and furniture. While I'm more known for my needle-felted pet portraits, I also enjoy creating art and giftware inspired by the local surroundings. Drawing my inspiration from Whitby’s sea and moors. These elements can be seen in my handcrafted wooden pieces, where i combine my love for illustrative designs in hand-burning images of local wildlife. I work on pet portrait commissions as a 2D needle felted image and also work in 3D.

Venue: St.Peters Centre, church street, Staithes

Medium: Needle felt/ Pyrography
