Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the Yorkshire coast — a must-see weekend in the regional arts calendar.

Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Alongside the open studios, enjoy a programme celebrating Staithes’ rich history and heritage, including walks, talks, photographs and film shows.

I have been a ceramicist for many years. My work is inspired by the rock pools and beaches on the North East Coastline. Each piece is multi glazed and fired to stoneware (1250°C) in an electric kiln. I cast my own ammonites, as well as using found objects and glass to enhance the rock pool effect. Each piece is individual.
