Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the coast – a must-see event in the regional arts calendar.

Festival 2024 is on Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 September, with preview night 7pm-8.30pm Friday 13 September

Doors of cottages are thrown open as pop-up art galleries in a unique selling exhibition.

Susan Isaac

Growing up in South Wales, Susan trained in fine art at Cardiff and Newport Art Colleges (1979-81), studied Design History at Brighton (1982-85) and Industrial Archaeology at the Ironbridge Institute of Birmingham University (1985-86). She worked as an investigator / illustrator of historic buildings and landscapes, at Lancaster University and as a freelancer (eg for English Heritage and Cadw), experiencing and recording remote and beautiful parts of Britain. At the turn of the millennium, settling in Nottinghamshire with young family, she returned to painting and sculpture full time. Her work has won several awards including the Attenborough Prize in 2022.
