Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the Yorkshire coast — a must-see weekend in the regional arts calendar.

Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Alongside the open studios, enjoy a programme celebrating Staithes’ rich history and heritage, including walks, talks, photographs and film shows.

Location: Staithes — 11 miles north of Whitby (TS13 5BH)

< Back to Artists

I am a professional artist based in Darlington, specialising in line and wash drawings of the urban and rural landscapes of the North of England, with a particular interest in coastal places. The North Yorkshire coast, including Staithes, has long inspired my work through its strong sense of history, weather and working landscape. Alongside landscape drawing, I also produce portraiture and original prints using linocut, drypoint and aquatint. I regularly teach and demonstrate my techniques to local art groups. For Staithes Arts Festival 2026, I will be showing original artworks, original prints and giclée editions at a range of prices.

Venue: Grimes Nook, High Barrass, TS13 5BH
