Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the coast – a must-see event in the regional arts calendar.

Festival 2024 is on Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 September, with preview night 7pm-8.30pm Friday 13 September

Doors of cottages are thrown open as pop-up art galleries in a unique selling exhibition. 

Celebrating the history and heritage of Staithes with a programme of walks, talks, photographs, and film shows.

Nick Claiden

Nick lives and works in Leeds. She educated at Dartington Hall School, Devon, then a degree in Social Administration and Politics at the University of Bristol. She works in stained glass and paintings and collage. Her glass sculptures are colourful and intricately painted and engraved, referencing Menhirs Her paintings have changed a lot in the last three years influenced by Lockdown, her husband having a stroke and her being diagnosed with breast cancer. Becoming increasingly abstract, inspired by how maps and the manmade landscape interact with the natural environment. She is a member of Roundhay Artists and Chapel Allerton Artists.
