Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage has established itself as one of the friendliest festivals on the Yorkshire coast — a must-see weekend in the regional arts calendar.

Step inside a village like no other as the doors of cottages are thrown open, transforming Staithes into a trail of pop-up art galleries showcasing painting, print, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, photography and more.

Alongside the open studios, enjoy a programme celebrating Staithes’ rich history and heritage, including walks, talks, photographs and film shows.

I have lived on the North York Moors for over 40 years and I crochet. I make ammonites which reflect our coastline, baskets made from recycled cotton and teddy bears using only GOTS certified organic yarns. I have recently been experimenting with colourful Japanese wool which makes great project bags - every one is different..This is my sixth year as a member of Staithes Arts and Crafts Centre, so my crochet is very much at home here.

Venue: Staithes Arts and Crafts Centre, Church Street

Medium: Ammonites, Baskets, Crochet
